The APMHA Member’s page here and the hypnosis treatment referral web site at http://APMHA/hypnosishelp provide a service for those seeking hypnotherapy treatment. Referrals are found among APMHA members and other licensed Affiliates in the requested treatment locations.
As new members join, they can let us know if there are any professionals on the listing who can now be removed. It is important that members get an opportunity to make contact with the clients being referred.
When treatment is requested by a client, they are responded to with a listing of members and affiliates (non members) listed in their state. Each of the doctors and therapists on the list are sent a “blind copy” of the referral. This is done so that members can anticipate a future call, or they may feel free to contact the inquiring client to offer their services.
Many times these referrals may not be in your location, but if the client is near you, it would be appropriate to contact them, introduce yourself as a Clinical Member of American Psychotherapy and Medical Hypnosis Association, Tell them more about your practice and encourage them to call for an appointment. You might prepare an introduction letter in advance which can then be sent each time you receive a referral notice.
During the last treatment referral quarter, the Hypnosis HELP Website received 65 requests for referrals to members of APMHA. We would like to hear from our members, when these referrals have been successfully brought into treatment as a result of the help service and your follow up. Please continue to respond to the notices you receive to offer assistance to those seeking treatment.
